Internationally Renowned Geneticist Prof. Josef Penninger Takes Over Scientific Management
We had just under a month to conceive and implement the PR campaign introducing the new scientific managing director of the Helmholtz Centre for Infection Research (HZI), Prof. Josef Penninger. The internationally multi-award-winning geneticist took over as scientific managing director of HZI on July 1, 2023. With this step, the research center, which has institutes at six locations in Germany, further strengthens its international focus.
Prof. Josef Penninger brings extensive expertise in personalized infection research and translational research. His stated goal is to further develop HZI into one of the world's leading interdisciplinary centers for infection research.
Media Mix Across Different Channels
At the center of the campaign are the press release, which we placed in international trade media accompanied by social media posts, as well as two videos: an interview with Prof. Josef Penninger and a corporate film about HZI. The campaign is complemented by a digital press kit, portrait photos, and short video snippets with statements from Prof. Josef Penninger. These were published in a targeted way on social media as the campaign progressed.
