Medical App - myTcell

The Challenge

App as a Medical Device

App Development and App Certification

Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich commissioned the development of an app to support physicians in cancer therapy with CAR T-cells.

A recent Bitkom study reveals that the demand for medical apps is high. This demand is to be met by myTcell for CAR T-cell therapies. The app is intended to reflect all important information from the current medical guidelines and, in addition, support physicians in treatment decisions. myTcell was certified by FUSE as a Class I medical device under the MDD.

The Implementation

Certified App Supports Physicians in Everyday Clinical Practice

At the start of app development, the complex medical content was structured and translated into an intuitive navigation concept. After detailed conception and visual design, native programming for iOS and Android followed.

In the iterative app development process, more and more ideas and requirements were added and seamlessly implemented. The result speaks for itself: myTcell became a high-quality application that greatly simplifies every oncologist's everyday clinical work. The so-called "calculators" in particular provide enormous relief for the treating physician. With this feature, the oncologist can enter the patient's vital signs into the app to receive important information for further treatment.

Since the app is intended exclusively for use by experienced medical staff, a closed user group was set up. Only registered users can access it via DocCheck and DGHO login.

In addition, FUSE was responsible for a number of other projects around myTcell, such as a promo video for the app's relaunch.
